Deep chemical peel
About deep chemical peels
Deep chemical peels (such as croton oil peel) can be useful for addressing deep wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, and acne scarring on the face.
Deep chemical peels stimulate collagen production and accelerates skin regeneration, producing a smoother and more youthful skin appearance.
Chemical peels can be combined with facelift surgery.

Procedure Information
-
Deep chemical peels are performed in the operating theatre, usually as day surgery.
Deep chemical peels are performed under sedation or general anaesthesia.
They are most often performed in combination with other facial rejuvenation surgery.
Skin is prepared for 4-6 weeks before the scheduled chemical peel.
You will be given medications to prevent infection before and after the peel.
Dr Law varies the croton oil concentration and application technique to tailor the treatment to each patient’s unique skin type and concern.
Depending on the number of facial areas treated, the procedure takes between 30-60 minutes.

·Your face will appear red after the procedure.
You will be given a cream to apply for a week after surgery.
The peeling process takes approximately two weeks to complete.
Once the skin has healed, you can apply make-up.
-
·The results can last for many years - providing a long-lasting improvement in skin texture and tone, and the reduction of deep wrinkles. However, this procedure does not stop the ageing process.
Good skincare and sun protection is advised to extend the results of your croton oil peel.
-
Alternatives to deep chemical peels for skin resurfacing include laser resurfacing, but this can also cause hypopigmentation (skin whitening) and scarring.
