Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon
Dr Jenaleen Law is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who manages general reconstruction, and has particular expertise in breast reconstruction, microsurgical reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery.
Born and educated in Sydney, Dr Law completed a combined medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Science (Medicine) Honours) at the University of New South Wales. After graduating from medical school with double honours, Dr Law was selected for postgraduate studies at two of the world’s leading universities – completing a Master of Science at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, followed by a Master of Surgical Science (with Merit) at the University of Edinburgh. Both degrees were in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Upon returning to Sydney, Dr Law commenced clinical work as a junior doctor before undertaking extensive training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at major metropolitan hospitals. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), recognising her as a fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.
To further refine her skills and integrate global best practices into her work, Dr Law completed several prestigious international fellowships:
Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship with Dr Edward Buchel, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada
Dr Law completed an intensive fellowship at one of the busiest microsurgical centres in Canada. Under the expert guidance of Dr Buchel, Dr Law performed over 100 microsurgical procedures, with a focus on breast, head and neck, and lower limb reconstruction. Her time in Winnipeg also gave her first-hand experience with life in extreme winter conditions!
Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery Fellowship with Prof Moustapha Hamdi, Brussels, Belgium
During her fellowship in Brussels, Dr Law further honed her skills in both reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. This included breast reconstruction using loco-regional and free flaps, aesthetic breast procedures such as augmentation, mastopexy, reduction, and the management of complex breast revision surgeries.
Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship with Dr Patrick Tonnard and Dr Alexis Verpaele, Coupure Centre for Plastic Surgery, Ghent, Belgium
Dr Law moved to Ghent where she worked with pioneers in facial rejuvenation surgery. Here she expanded her skills in facial surgery – including facelift, necklift, blepharoplasty, browlift, liplift, and facial fat grafting. She also developed advanced techniques in non-surgical treatments using injectables, chemical peels, and microneedling.
Aesthetic Surgery Training
Dr Law furthered her training in leading private clinics in London, Banff, Winnipeg, Milan, Stockholm, and New York. This broadened her exposure to international innovations in cosmetic plastic surgery, and gave her the opportunity to enjoy the cultural and culinary delights of these global cities.
Dr Law currently works as a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincent’s Hospital, and additionally operates at several private hospitals across Sydney.
Outside of medicine
Outside the operating theatre, Dr Law enjoys travelling to culturally rich destinations, exploring new dining experiences, and learning to play golf. She also values quality time with her husband, family, and close friends.
